Considered a Hidden Gem and Nature’s Paradise, Fernan Lake is a beautiful, natural environment directly east of downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

This small lake encompasses 381 acres and is met on the south side by a steep terrain. On its best days, Fernan Lake is a popular recreation destination for fishing, swimming, boating, general sightseeing and relaxation.

However, Fernan Lake is experiencing severe algae blooms. These algal blooms can deplete the oxygen and block sunlight to other organisms, producing powerful toxins that are capable of causing illness and even death to wildlife, livestock, and pets.
